SCAPE is one of the UK’s leading public sector procurement authorities, dedicated to creating spaces, places and experiences that leave a sustainable legacy within the community.

Established in 2006 by six local authority shareholders, any surplus income we make is returned to the public sector.

As a not-for-profit organisation, SCAPE provides procurement frameworks that enable public sector organisations to deliver projects and programmes compliantly and collaboratively, with community at their heart.

Our suite of Gold Standard Accredited, compliant consultancy, civil engineering, construction and utilities frameworks offer significant added value to the client including early contractor engagement, social value and community benefits delivery, active framework management, and viability studies at no extra cost.

Our frameworks have achieved Gold Standard verification through Constructing Excellence and the highest level of compliance for the Carbon Reduction Code.

SCAPE frameworks mandate projects that utilise local labour and keep the spend local. Social value measures are chosen by the client based on local need. All projects delivered include social measures designed to benefit the local community and deliver value beyond cost.

Our annual Social Value Benchmarking Report reviews social value spend in construction across the UK and guides best practice and trends across provision.

SCAPE employees choose a local charity annually and support with fundraising and volunteer activities.

SCAPE was a founder member of the NACF, through the East Midlands Property Alliance. Its introduction was seen as an invaluable opportunity to share best practice with fellow local government officers.

The NACF and its members offer a unique insight into the difficulties facing government departments, supports collaboration with the construction sector to deliver valued outcomes and for developing and sharing best practice.

Look for a compliant framework, that aligns to the NACF “Attributes of Frameworks” (all members are assessed against this standard prior to membership) or one that is registered Gold Standard. We would always advise the Public Sector to use a framework which is designed and operated for the public sector.
