Building world-class science and tech infrastructure to meet UK ambitions

Last week the government launched its Science and Technology Framework with the ambition to make the UK a science and technology superpower by 2030.  Part of this is about creating a pro-innovation culture throughout the UK’s public sector to improve the way our public services run, with an initial raft of projects worth around £500 million in new and existing funding.

These projects are about increasing research and innovation infrastructure capacity across all regions of the UK, with additional investment internationally to meet the ambition.

It’s never been more important for the UK to develop in-house technology and innovation, and this call on the public sector to innovate should be prioritised. With a robust pipeline of science and technology projects announced by the government, the public sector should be ready to deliver top quality learning and business spaces for their communities.
